Where oh where?

I made pumpkin muffins from scratch the other day.

I took the first pan out of the oven, and tried flipping them upside down onto the cooling rack so they'd fall out.

However, it didn't work so well because I'd forgotten to put cooking spray in the tin.

When I put the muffin pan back on the stove, I notice something funny.

Yes, that's right.  A muffin was missing.

I search high and low for that little thing. . . on the floor, under the dining room table, in the crack between the counter and stove, under the counters. . .

But I couldn't find it anywhere.

I called Jesse in to help me look in case I was missing that in plain sight... but he couldn't find it either.

He suggested maybe I had eaten it and forgotten about it.  At first, I denied this accusation. . . but as the search continued, I thought maybe he was right. . . maybe I'd absentmindedly eaten the poor thing and forgotten about it.

After Jesse left the kitchen I picked up the muffin tin to try again. . . and found the little muffin.  He had been hiding from us.  I think he was afraid of getting eaten.

Do you see it?

How about now?

There it is!

It was a little smushed.

But I ate it anyway, and it was scrumptious to my taste-buds.

I want another one.
