That lake was actually called Lake Chargoggagoggmanchauggagoggchaubunagungamaugg by the local Indians.
It is translated, "I fish on my side, you fish on your side, nobody fishes in the middle."

bhaha, i read about that lake a few years ago, and tried to memorize it's name to be impressive. I didn't get very far.
